A Story about a Tree...

An apple tree is sometimes like our life. When we are young, we are cared for by our parents, it takes time, patience, and waiting to see the fruits of your labor to produce fruits of its own. It is a rewarding task to see this all come full circle. Although you could question a lot when after years of waiting for the fruit to go, eagerness to see the juicy red apples, still the tree comes up barren.

Sometimes in life we work so hard for things and wonder if all of our hard work will pay off. We wonder if all the time and energy that we have put into something will pay off...and then one day, when we least expect it, there is an abundant harvest! So, abundant that we wonder where it all come from. Then...we remember, all the hours of toil, blood, sweat and tears that were labored over the years of waiting, and now we see this all reflected in a beautiful fruit that we partake in! It makes all the hard work worthwhile. It makes all the years of patience and waiting a small part in the this accomplishment of life!

**This is in honor of the accomplishments of my brother!
On this day, we partake in the fruits of his labor! I love you, Ryan!**

3 miles!

We ran three miles today! We walked a little bit each mile, but over all we ran a good portion of the 3 miles. My mom came to run with us as well, she was the leader of the pack. We had a beautiful run around the neighborhood. The weather was nice, a little warm at points for a run, but then we were rewarded with a cool breeze every so often. We are still in search of the race to do. i may have found one here in Cleveland in October, that could be a nice jog through the metroparks.

I haven't forgotten..

about blogging, it has just been crazy around here lately. Work has been busy ever since I got back from World Youth Day. I have been so jealous of my co-workers who have been heading off to the beach. I want to head off to the beach! I have been actively promoting my pilgrimages in a way that I haven't before making hundreds of phone calls to personally invite people. I must admit the hard work has paid off. I went from having 16 people signed up for the Rome and Assisi pilgrimage to having over 40! I am really excited!

In other exciting news, I am really excited about running again. Not just to be running, but to be running next to my husband! Brian called me up a few weeks ago when I was at work, and asked me if we had money in the budget to buy him some new shoes. I was confused because we had just bought him new shoes for work. I then asked him what kind of shoes, and he kept beating around the bush...we finally got to the point and he told me he wanted running shoes...I said, are you going to run with me? (Kristi and I had talked about training for a 10K) Brian had decided that he wanted to train for it as well!

We went for our first run on Monday after work and ran for two miles. He did so good, that he finished before me! We are a bit sore, but we pushed ourselves and went for another 2 mile run today!

It brings me much joy to be running together!

Good Sportsmanship!

I don't know a whole lot about her yet, I have done a little reading, and seen her in a few TV interviews, and her interaction during the games, but I must say, I am really impressed with the Sportsmanship of Dara Torres, the 41 year old Olympic swimmer. Not only is she WAY impressive, because she is 41 years old and kicking the butts of swimmers less than half her age, but she is such a great encouragement to not only her team members, but to her competitors. I see how encouraging and supporting she is to her fellow swimmers. After years of playing sports, and all the competition between teams, especially rival teams, it is so good to see that people understand that you can still be friendly with your competitors. She said something like, in the pool they are her competition, but out of the pool, they are still her friends. So, good!

Good Job, Dara! Thank you for your inspiration!

Slowly but surely...

I am recovering from my 2 and a half weeks being out of the country, being in a 14-16 hour time difference, and being away from my husband!! I have been home for less than a week and so I am still whining when it is time to get out of bed in the morning and am ready for a nap by 2pm. I don't think I have had a full night of sleep yet, where I don't wake up at 4 or 5am.

I am also starting to work through my 1300 pictures that I took...soon I will post more of them on here. I have some great ones of New Zealand to post.

Work is keeping me busy as well, as I am working on our Rome & Assisi pilgrimage and wrapping up World Youth Day details...soon I will start planning prelim stuff for World Youth Day 2011, in Madrid, Spain!

Ok..I am getting tired and want to go cuddle with my hubby!
