Not much belly change

So, I am finally updating the posting of the belly pics. Maybe it is just me, but I don't see that much change in these pictures, but I am remaining faithful to taking them to the end! Someone suggested I start taking them in half-weeks until the end.

The waiting game...

I went in for an ultrasound last week, and according to the ultrasound measurements, the baby is weighing 8lbs, 3 oz, and the femur bone is measuring to be that of a baby at 40-41 weeks. Also, according to how the baby is measuring on the ultrasound, they have estimated the due date to be Wednesday. Granted...this is all guestimated, and who knows how accurate it all is. So, we are still waiting. Although Brian and I are guessing the baby will arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday....OF THIS WEEK!!!! Is that crazy or what?!!? We could be holding this little one, in a matter of days!!!

Also, on the ultrasound...we saw hair on the head!! YEAH!!!! I really hope it has dark hair...I know it seems obvious that our child would have dark hair, but Brian was born with blond hair and my younger brother was born with blond hair, so it is in both of our genes. So, anything is possible...

So...we wait...I will keep you posted best I can...I have more belly pics to post, I just need to download them.

Until next time...

Aren't they pretty?!?!

My husband let me indulge myself and get my toes done!! Being that I couldn't cut my own toe nails anymore, it was imperative to have something done!

Getting a pedicure really makes me happy! Thanks, love for letting me indulge!

Isn't he cute?!?!?!?

As some people know....Brian loves to have the remote in his hand...He was really tired on Easter Sunday night..and well...he decided to cuddle up with the remote and catch some zzz's!!

Love you honey!!

a little closer to being ready...

I got a few more things organized in the nursery, and my bag is packed for the most part!

This past weekend, we went and got a few more things for the nursery...crib mattress, changing table pad, etc. So, now we have a few more essentials.

Like, I said my bag is packed for the most part...I will just need to put a few last minute items in there, when the time comes.

I have 20 days left until my due date. I am measuring 1 week ahead..but ya know who knows if that will make a difference in when Goober will show his/her face!

36 weeks

So, I am now 37 weeks..clearly I am little behind...again...but well better late than never!

So, here is my 36 week picture...I also thought it was time to take a picture in a Notre Dame shirt. Being that when I told Brian I was pregnant, I also told him that we were going to a Notre Dame game for his birthday. Being that it was 7am, I don't which shocked him more....that I was pregnant or that we were going to Notre Dame for a game!

My Penance...

I met with my spiritual director last week, and it was my penance to put this verse on my desk. He asked if I did calligraphy...I said, "No, I do photoshop!" So, this is what I created!

I really love this verse, because it reminds us that the "fear of God" is not "fear" as we often define it, rather it is a canopy of blessings! God has taken me through many series of events over the last few months, and even if there are trials...there are blessings in the midst of them. This I need to remember!

As we await the arrival of our little miracle, I revel in the canopy of blessings!!!!

Thank you Lord, for the miracle within me and all the blessings that will continue to come with it!

Ready for Bedtime

Well...almost.

The Crib is all put together!! We just need to get a mattress and put the sheets on, but technically we won't need those things for a few months...being that the baby will be sleeping in that beautiful cradle you see in front of me! My grandfather made that for all of us Patt kids, and we all slept in it! I remember showing off my baby sister to my best friend Stacey, when Amber was sleeping in there after she came home from the hospital!

Also in the room is a bunch of the stuff we have gotten so far..so much fun stuff! As Brian says, "it all needs to find a home!" I guess that means I need to clean out the closet in that room! Darn it! I thought I was done cleaning out spaces....

Now we're ready...

For the last few weeks I had been worried..thinking, what if this baby were to come now!?? I asked a few of my friends who are already mom's asking them, "what do I REALLY need, if the baby were to come early?" Their answers were all the same..."a car seat to get the baby home!"

My mom and my best friend Jacquie had a shower for us back home this past weekend, and it was so fun! We got lots of fun stuff for the baby. Towels, onsies, blankets, outfits, a first aid kit, diaper rash ointment, a diaper bag, diapers, and even the crib (thanks Grandma and Grandpa Patt) (although the baby will sleep in the cradle for the first few months. The cradle that my grandfather made, and all 5 of us Patt kids slept in!) But, today, we got the car seat and stroller!!!! (Thanks Grandma and Grandpa Meier) So, now we can get the baby home, to use the towels, onsies and crib!!!

I must have been so excited to get this stroller that when I got dressed this morning, I unconsciously dressed myself in colors that would match the stroller!!

Next task...pack my hospital bag!

Look...the baby is "in" the car seat! haha!!

Here is 34 weeks...

And I am almost 35 weeks!

The other day I decided to google images of "baby born at 34 weeks" to see what Goober actually looks like inside right now....can we say that I was just in AWE!!!!! Seriously...check out the link and you will see what I mean! Our little Goober is a full baby in there....i am not sure why this fascinates me so much...i guess feeling the baby move so much, it just continues to amaze me that it is our baby in there moving around and not just my organs doing weird things!

I AM SO EXCITED TO MEET THIS BABY!!!

32 weeks

Again, I have not been so good about getting these up quickly, but here is the belly at 32 weeks!

Belly fun!

Thought I would take a few different angles at 30 weeks.
Soon I want to do the artsy belly pics... stay tuned!

Better late than never...

My life has been extremely busy lately..ok well mostly my job has kept me extremely busy and then when I finally get home around 6:30 or 7 pm, I either crash or have some evening event to attend. I hope it all slows down a little bit before the baby comes!

Speaking of baby...(who is currently squirming around in my belly), finally here are the updated belly pics from 28 and 30 weeks. Believe it or not, I will be 32 weeks on Sunday! Only 8 weeks left!! (or less if this baby is as impatient as me!)

We were visiting with some friends recently and there were a bunch of babies around. When we got home I was telling Brian how excited I was to meet our child....will it be a boy or a girl, who will goober look like? What color hair will they have? What color eyes? What will their personality be like?!?! So many things to learn about our new little one!! I am so excited!!!

We started birthing classes at the hospital where I will deliver....the instructor kind of drives us nuts, but I am sure we will learn a few useful things. We went on a tour of the Labor and Delivery ward at the first class, and it was weird to be in the rooms, and see everything, thinking "THIS IS WHERE WE WILL MEET OUR BABY!!!"

As usual Goober has been very active. I have been able to feel different body parts, and feel them move when I put my h and on them. Brian is simply fascinated to feel the baby moving around! Last night he put his ear up to my belly and was listening to the baby move around, and even heard the heartbeat! Then Goober kicked him in the head!! He laughed!

Feeling Goober move around is so amazing, although I will say the kicks to my bladder are not my favorite!

Baby Talk

So, I heard about this woman who was on Oprah, called the "Baby Whisperer." Her name is Priscilla Dunstan, and she is from Australia. She is a woman who was born with a gift of perfect pitch, photographic memory, and the ability to play a piece of music note for note after hearing it once. She claims to know the sounds that a baby makes, using a universal language to know what your baby needs. There are 5 words that she defines.
Neh: "I'm Hungry"
Eh: "Burp Me"
Owh: "I'm tired"
Eiarh: "I have gas"
Heh: "I am uncomfortable" ie. change my diaper or i am to hot or too cold, etc.

So, I decided to rent the video from the library and we finally watched it tonight, with our friend Grace who has an 8 week old baby. WOW! I was really fascinated! As we were watching the video and hearing the examples of the different "words" we were hearing baby Thomas making the same sounds. While we were watching the video we heard him make the sounds for wanting his diaper changed, having to burp and he was hungry. The hunger one is the easiest to hear. It was really cool!

You can watch a video here that is a news story about Priscilla, and gives a few examples of the 3 of the words. You can watch a video of it here!

Really, quite fascinating! I am excited to listen to Goober!

Our little soccer player!

If you watch at about 30 seconds on the left side of my belly you will see a big kick!!!

If you watch at 14 and 29 seconds by my hand you will see some movement. (you win a prize if you can tell me what movie we are watching in the background!)

HEARTBURN!

This kind of heartburn has nothing to do with Valentine's Day!!! I never knew what heartburn was until the last few weeks, and have no discovered yet another symptom of pregnancy!! For the first time in my life, I bought Rolaids today! The heartburn was so bad yesterday that I knew it was time for some outside help!

In other good news about pregnancy, I have been seeing the baby move on the outside. It is so fascinating to watch my belly move!! I will post videos so you can enjoy the fun too! It makes Brian laugh every time he sees it!

26 weeks...less than 100 days to go!

As of today we have 97 days to due date!!! It's crazy!! This baby is going to be here before we know it!! =)

It doesn't look like my belly got much bigger this time, but I think it is because I am different pants in the pictures.

Thought I would have some fun with pictures this time. Enjoy!

Missed all the Action!!

We have known for a long time that a lot of stray cats hang out in our yard. We have recently noticed a lot of cats in the backyard, particularly under the deck and even some paw tracks on the snow covered pool cover.

When we left for mass this morning there were no tracks on the pool and minimal tracks on the sidewalk. No big deal, I just noticed this and we went on our way.

Well...we came back from mass and breakfast (at our favorite local joint..Spanky's) and Brian looked around the backyard and said, "A dog got in here!" Sure enough there were dog tracks EVERYWHERE!! Even on the pool cover! It seemed as if the dog got confused and couldn't figure out how to get out...until we noticed two planks of wood missing in part of the fence by the pool.

I looked around some more and noticed how big the dog prints were...this was one big dog! I felt like we were investigating a crime scene, trying to figure out what took place in our yard. If there had not been snow all over we never would have seen the evidence of our visitor.

So, we laughed and went in the house. We had a friend staying with us this weekend, who was sitting in our living room waiting for us to get home when we arrived, and he told us about the action that we missed!

There were 4 huge dogs (probably rottweilers) attacking a cat on the pool!! I am sad to say that it seems as if the cat didn't make it out alive, as one of the dogs apparently took off with it. (I am grateful that they didn't leave it behind for us to clean up). Although I am a little sad I wasn't here to witness the action of all that was taking place in our once quiet backyard!

I can't even imagine what would have happened if the pool water wasn't frozen over! We would have come home to a real mess in our pool! I do wonder whether or not the pool cover got pierced in the process. I can't imagine that the dogs who were fighting over a cat were kind enough to be gentle on our expensive pool cover!

So, we missed the action, but I am grateful that our friend Brandon was here to give us the details of what happened. I have no doubt that these dogs are trained to fight, as witnessed by their behavior in our yard. I praise God that it wasn't a small child that was getting attacked! Brian said that he would have called the cops if we had been home, and I would have totally supported that! There is a chance that some of the dogs were pit bulls, as there are many of them in this neighborhood.

Ta Da! Yeah for the Nursery!

My mom came down this weekend to help me work on the nursery. After some painstaking color decisions, I finally decided on the color scheme and theme for the room. As much as I love re-decorating things, I sometimes just don't like making the final decisions on colors and such, unless I already have the idea solid in my head. Well, it came down to green and yellow, nice neutral colors. And the plan is to have someone paint this really cute monkey on the wall!! It is a part of a wallpaper design, which I am now about to do wallpaper, but I love the monkey!
So, we finished up the painting at about 10:30 pm tonight, and we are pleased with the results! I am excited to put all the finishing touches on the room..ya know, like a baby! =) (Ok and some other decorative things, too!)

I feel very accomplished now that this project is done and I feel much more prepared for the baby's arrival.

It looked like a whole new room with just the walls primed!

The color is giving some life to the room!

All the paint is on...finally!

TA DA!!!

We had a productive weekend!

Jake & Alicen

Over Christmas break I had the privelage of taking the engagement pictures for Jake and Alicen. Jake was one of Brian's groomsman and now Brian will have the blessing of being his groomsman in September.

They are a great couple and lots of fun! I had some fun with their photos and thought I would share my favorite!

Images Within

We finally were able to get a 3D ultrasound done, thanks to my mom's coworker, Patty!

The first time we went Goober was face down and facing backwards, so we tried again the next week and Goober flipped over!! Except Goober was cuddling with the placenta. But, low and behold we were able to get a few pictures!

Enjoy!! My favorite part is the lips and the nose!!!

I love the chin line on this one

Wonder who won the soccer game...

That was going on in my belly the other day!! =)

Here is my 24 week belly picture. Honestly I don't see much difference from 22 weeks, but then again I look at this belly every day! =)

Movin' to the Music

Last night I was at the Festival of Praise on campus, which is a night of praise and worship music. Shortly after I got there and the music started, Goober started kicking and dancing and loving all of the music!! It was great!

Then this morning there were big kicks and punches going on! I just love it!!! I have always wondered what it would feel like to have a baby kicking and growing and moving inside of me and now I know and I just love it!! I am so amazed at every movement.

I am 24 weeks as of today...only 16 weeks left!!!!

I had a dream last night that Brian and I got custody of two kids. They were both young and we were totally unprepared. No room for them to sleep in, no food, no clothes, no toys... I guess it was my subconscious telling me we need to start getting things ready for this baby! We have a room to put the baby in, and a cradle to put the baby in, and a few little things, but really not much yet. Time to get a move on...we only have 16 weeks left!! =)

We did actually start registering this week...but I was sadly disappointed with the selection at the Target near us. Guess I will resort to online, and Baby's R Us.

Wedding Wonderland

This was the first wedding I shot in the snow and I was very pleased with the results!!! The snow was just an accent to the beautiful bride!

Camera Found..and belly pics too!

Up until last night we thought we lost our point and shoot digital camera. We hadn't seen it since Christmas. We thought it got left behind somewhere and couldn't remember where. Well, as we were taking the 22 week belly picture last night and we were lamenting over the lost camera, we once again retraced our steps and went to find the camera in Brian's duffle bag! Ta Da!

So, that is why it took so long to post the 20 week picture. And as of yesterday I am now 22 weeks! More than halfway there!

Goober has been very active lately. Except for this past weekend when we tried to have a 3D ultrasound down. The baby was facing my back, therefore we couldn't get a clear image. The tech was able to get a few images, but for some reason they didn't burn onto the CD she made for me. So sad! Well, the good news is that we are going to try again this weekend.

It's tough work...

It's tough work making a human! This is what making a human can do to you! (and what a sneaky husband can do when his pregnant wife is taking a nap!)

Remembering Therese Marie

Today was the due date for our dear Therese Marie. It was St. Therese who "clued" me in that I might be pregnant, when I was on a trip for work in Montreal, Canada and when we got our due date, we were not at all surprised that it was today, which is St. Therese's birthday.

As hard as it was to go through all pain, questions and tears of the miscarriage, we are grateful for our faith that got us through. God is so faithful. I have a new understanding of what other mothers and fathers go through when they lose a child.

As today, I am grateful for our little saint that we have in heaven, I am also grateful for the next miracle that God has for us, that is kicking within my womb at this very moment! Our little Goober is an active one already! Just like Mommy!

I look forward to the day that we get to hold our little Therese Marie in our arms and thank her face to face for all the prayers she has offered up for us and our loved ones.

Thank you again for everyone who has been a support to us over the last few months!
