A Day in the Life: Strawberry Picking

I have memories as a child of going strawberry picking with my mom...but I did not remember how good the strawberries tasted right off the vine!  If I would have remembered that I would have done this years ago!!

I took the boys strawberry picking the other day and it was a lot of fun.  Ok, let's be honest, I picked, they ran around and ate.  Yet, fun, none the less!  (and when I woke up the next morning I was sore from bending over and picking  the juicy red gems...and am still a little sore, but it was SO worth it!)

I was proud of myself for bringing along my "big guns" camera and capturing this memory with the boys.

I of course had plans for those berries as soon as we got home...Strawberry Shortcake...I do remember how this tasted!  I am very picky about my strawberry shortcake though, it had to be Bisquick shortcake...so clearly that was dessert that evening!  Then with the rest I made Strawberry Jam...I can promise it will not be around long...YUM!
