I have heard many stories of people overcoming cancer or a major illness by having a positive attitude. I don't know the scientific studies behind it, but I have heard that the body is able to heal better if you remain positive. When you are positive you make better choices that will benefit your life and your health. The old saying of "Do you see the glass as half empty or half full?" really goes a long way in your outlook on life.
My friend Stacy is a living example of that positive attitude. She always has a smile on her face. Even when she is frustrated with her job, (she is a youth minister working with teens), she finds a way to keep it positive. I truly admire that in her, and I know that positive attitude rubs off on those teens she ministers to as well as to her husband and two kids.
Stacy was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, but that didn't take away her positive attitude. She went through surgery and just finished up her chemo treatment. She kept positive attitude through it all and took it all in stride. Our friend Heather told me about how they were the life of the party with the nurses and other patients during her chemo treatments. I know this positive attitude is key to her beating the crap out of the cancer! You GO GIRL!!!
So, when she said that they wanted a family BALD picture before her hair started growing back, I couldn't resist jumping on the opportunity. Her husband and son shaved their heads in solidarity with her when she lost her hair during treatment. Her daughter wasn't ready to shed her locks, so she completed the picture with a bald cap. She said "we just want one picture!" But let's be honest, I can't just take ONE! =)
We had a blast celebrating her completion of her chemo treatment and having a fun photoshoot in downtown Noblesville. They are such a fun and silly family that it wasn't hard for me to capture LIFE in their images!!!
I loved capturing the sweet moments with her kids. They sure do love their Mommy! |
There is no question that her husband Chad was her rock through it all and I know she was an amazing witness to him too! |
"Life is like riding a bicycle, to keep your balance you must keep moving!" |
