A Day in the Life of the Meier Family: Valentine's Day Fun

As a photographer...I have a confession to make!  I forget to take pictures of my own kids!

Now that is not to say that I don't have hundreds, if not thousands of pictures of my kids.  The days they were born, daily pictures taken for the first year, endless adorable moments caught on our little point and shoot camera or my phone....I could go on and on....but I don't take out the big guns often enough. (read: "big guns" is my professional camera!)

I was recently helping a client put together an album of their family vacation at the beach and it inspired me to really get my family pictures in order. My poor kids are never going to know that photographs of theme exist, because they are all on my computer!  I want tangible albums for them to see and look through, not just scroll through on the computer.  So, it is one of my New Years resolutions to start that process.  (don't ask me how my progress is so far and DON'T remind me that it is almost March!)

All that being said--I do want to make sure I am capturing the daily moments of fun we have as a family. I want to bring out the "big guns" on a more regular basis.  So, hopefully in the future you will see more posts titled: "A day in the Life of the Meier Family."  I purposely did not do any editing on these photos, because I wanted them to feel real and in the moment with just the natural sunlight pouring in from the window.  Enjoy! And don't forget to read the captions! hehe!

ok--so I think my kids are kind of cute, so I wanted to post all of my 24 favorites...but I refrained...so if you want to see the rest....go here to my Facebook page and see more.  While you are there, "like" my page! I would like...no...LOVE it if you did!

Luke wasn't so sure he was ready to make cookies
Jacob was READY!!
A sweet brotherly hug that turned into a.....

Headlock!

he loves to blow kisses!
Did you catch it?

Here's one from both of them!
Time to get down to business
He goes all in!

Jacob was very generous with the sprinkles!!!
Luke was much more delicate with his sprinkle rationing
He left no cookie untasted!
I am a fun mommy! I made them each a cookie with a letter for their name, and I let them play with the sugar afterwards.  Jacob was quite red by the time he was done!

They were yummy and passed the daddy test!
PS: We made gluten free sugar cookies!  Just in case you are inspired, they were super easy! Here is the recipe!
