Fun in the Hospital

We have been "living" in the hospital since Thursday. Brian had his colon resection surgery on Thursday morning and came out with flying colors! The doc was able to perform the surgery mostly laproscopically, but had to make an incision below his belly button in order to get his hand in there to reconnect the remaining colon to the proper "exit point." The good news is that he will heal as if it was a full laproscopic surgery.

His pain level has gone down since Thursday, so we are grateful for that. The doc says the biggest problem from now until he is discharged is that he might start getting really bored, because he now just has to sit around and wait until his system turns back on and things start moving back through it.

Jacob and I have been traveling back and forth to be with him as much as possible. Brian's parents were in for the first few days, and now his oldest sister is here with us, but really she is more about seeing Jacob than she is Brian and I...which is good, because this is the first time she has met the little man.

We should be here for a few more days before we can have him home. Until then we will enjoy the comforts of our private room and the good care of the nurses and doctors.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!!
